You must submit applications to AccessNI using a verified nidirect account .The nidirect account allows you to access other online government services in Northern Ireland.

There can be delays in creating a nidirect account and it will involve going through the digital identity verification process.

Creating a verified nidirect account is not the same as applying to AccessNI – you simply use the account to submit an application to AccessNI.

If you’ve ever used any of the following services online, you’ll already have a nidirect account and can logon and use that account to submit your application to AccessNI without having to go through further identity verification

• Apply for an AccessNI certificate after 18 March 2025
• Access MyCare – your patient portal
• View or share your driving licence service
• Apply for a provisional driving licence

• DAERA online applications
• Apply for a taxi licence
• Apply for legal aid
• Claim for compensation for criminal injury
• Buy rod licences, permits and River Bush day tickets
• COVID certification & Mobile App
